Greeley is knitting Marlo. i love both her choice of yarn, Noro Cash Iroha, and the color. i love the texture of Cash Iroha and i think it's even more interesting in reverse stockinette. this is going to look fantastic with jeans! since denim is pretty much all that i wear, it is the measure against which all sweaters are considered.
i've almost completed the back of Patti. stay tuned for photos.
this past week i finished this teeny, tiny sweater for my little friend, London. actually, for a size 6-12 months it doesn't look so tiny to me, but what do i know? as i was nearing completion, i realized that the neck hole might be a little too small. my solution was to only partially seam the shoulder. i left a tiny opening then i knitted a buttonhole tab. i hope it works!
having completed a project i am now free to cast on for something new. i'm excited about this. However, i am finally making some progress on Patti and it took me ages to get into a groove with this project, so i'm not sure that i should distract myself with something new. hmm... it's so hard to stay focused when i have the yarn for Courtney standing by. (i also have yarn for the very popular Raspy, though i'm not quite in the mood for dealing with denim colored fingers.) the other idea that i have is to cast on for a cushion cover. my livingroom is in desperate need of a change of palette. it's been orange/coral/pink for sometime and i'm sick of it. i'm feeling a surge of green/blue/grey coming on.
at any rate, in the coming weeks my Tivo will be loaded with lots of knit-friendly things to watch (i.e. programs that don't require reading subtitles (foreign films) or having to be fully attentive to every detail (24, Lost). i'm still loving Califonication. Curb Your Enthusiasm has gotten off to a good start. can't wait to see Heroes, 30 Rock, The Office, Brothers & Sisters, Dexter... i see a lot of FOs in my future!
here's a little something for all you Pringle of Scotland admirers. if you guys cast on for this i want to know about it. enjoy!
thanks, johanna, for turning me on to this!

there's more stuff. i just have to dig deep into my closet to find it. ugh.
remember how i was knitting that sweater for a certain blogger in exchange for the sweater of my dreams? the swap has been successfully completed to the great satisfaction of both participants. Ms. Tricoquelicot reports that she loves her sweater and as you can see in the photo on the right, it fits her beautifully! (this pattern will be available for purchase sometime in October). that's me in my dream Pringle sweater on the left. i LOVE this sweater. it's the best thing i've added to my wardrobe in ages. i cannot wait to wear it!
she was also kind enough to send me a skein of her yummy, hand dyed sock yarn. it is really exquisite. (i was too lazy to find batteries for the digital camera, so i shot it using the camera on my macbook. hence the backwards label.) her colorways are pretty unique. i'm drooling over the cashmere yarn in her Etsy shop.
